Currently, spectating is off to avoid that exploit.

But I can see a lot of deaths atm - players with -60 deaths - so there is clearly another exploit here with money/experience.

Any one know how this exploits works?

I was wondering why spectate was off. I was trying to keep an eye on a noob with a particularly nasty pron spray and could really have done with spec mode to help track the sick twat. Dunno how the exploit works, tho. First I\'ve heard of it. Anybdy got any other details?

Ok, this exploit usually takes place late at night when the server is empty. With less then 4 people on, so HLstats doesn\'t record the great amount of deaths.

Basically, you get money at the start of every round. One player spams their kill bind. Meaning that each round lasts about a second and cash can build up very quickly. You buy a level when you get 16k. And repeat the process.

Ok the kill command is essential in wcs so that cant be taken out.

If you see it happening, tell an admin (i\'ll do) and next time i see them i will reset their levels.

DS - any chance of a console message, \'exploiting the game to gain levels results in consequences\', or some such?

I will add message that pops up with the rules as suggested in another thread - it will displayed as part of the server adverts system. I did look into a suicide kicker but there is not much aviable.

Something else I can do is make hlstatsx avaiable when less players are on - eg, instead of four players its activated from 1 which means we could track players doing this but ofc it could slew the stats very slightly if a good high level player is on with a nuub.

Also, are we going to want to reset the levels regularly or is this something that would not be liked by the players? ie. monthly for example.

that was the main problem with the old wcs server we played, levels were reset ridiculously often.

You wanna be aiming to reset pretty much only when new races are being put on that are worth it, otherwise people will not like it at all. Thats why most of us stopped playing the old one, we got really high then reset for no reason.

yeah, resetting the levels will be fairly unpopular. i stopped playing on my last server because i was like level 1000 and after the reset i didnt have time to level again.

If your billy the kid and u kill yourself you buy scroll of respawn and get 6k when u spawn so that could be a reason?
