Its from now on STRICTLY forbidden to create and use sand (or any other material) spawning machines on the mc server, during the day I had nothing more than extreme block lag for EVERYONE on the server due to players using then causing a bad playing experience to everyone (not counting other stuff the machine does)

If I find them (and I will find) people involved with them may get their rights removed to Player Group and if I'm in a pissed off day, may get a few days ban.

what on earth is a sand machine O.o ?

it is a machine using pistons that takes advantage of a block update glitch and creates infinite sand and/or gravel

Technically the official name that has been given to this device is the SSAGE (Static Sand And Gravel Extractor)

In 1.7 you could duplicate any block including diamonds etc which was half patched in 1.8 (though they haven't yet figured out how to fix the blocks effected by gravity)

New abuse!

There were already things like this on the creative, It doesn't hurt.
