I\'ve only studied Utilitarianism and Kantian Ethics - so which standpoint are you more inclined to? Personally I like the theory of Kant but Utilitarianism is really the only one which can work in society. DISCUSS!

if utiliatarism is the one wich says "you try to min. your pain and max. your happiness" then that one is just WAY too simple

Yeah it is but it looks at every consequence of an action in deciding whether or not it is morally right or not and if it provides the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.

if im not mistaken utilitarism says that every person tries to increase its OWN happiness
however by doing so ppl often create mattheus effect

nah utilitarianism says that your own happiness is no more important than the happiness of others. Though I haven't really studied it that in depth and so I don't really know much about it apart from the basics.
