As a lot of you know, i play a fair bit of starcraft 2. An idea has sprung to mind, or should i say i just stole it from some other genius. Basically on teamliquid.net they allow users to stream their games of sc2 live and it seems to attract quite the audiences. I am fairly interested in setting one up and i invite you all along to watch if you want
With people viewing my stream i thought 'what could i do for my pals at TWk.' Then it struck me i can incorporate twk into my channel and gain some free publicity for the community which i have grown up in. XD
Then i got brain storming and thought maybe we could embed the stream into the site to create a new feature as such? and this can work for any game, mixes on css, laddering on sc2, black ops and such? i have no idea if it will be a hit or not, but hey, who goes to school to learn, i'd rather watch games xD haha. Also this links back to Gary's idea of shout casting css matches as they go on but seeming as the team isn't so competitive anymore, maybe we could do the shout casting for Black ops instead?
just as an example, here is the feature in use on another site:
www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/
The streams together seem to have a couple of hundred with sometimes a single stream holding over 1000 viewers
Obviously it is just an idea but i will definitely get a stream on teamliquid, i just thought it would be a good idea to get twk involved aswell? Any comments on whether it is a good or bad idea? ways to improve the idea etc.
Cheers, Eski.
