One screen just isn't enough for me i would like two BUT there is a little problem. A have a VGA output going into my pc which leaves me with only a DVI output left but my tv (second monitor) can only have a VGA input. Is there a way i can link up a DVI to VGA and get my second monitor working? I have tried to research this but being a complete noob it just confuses me lol. I saw something like a DVI-I or DVI-A ? will these work?

Quite a few graphics cards also come with one - perhaps check your old gfx card box incase?

Also, does your primary display have DVI ? If so, put primary onto DVI and the secondary can then use the VGA.

How do i tell if it is a dvi-i or a dvi-d socket? Or is this guy as equally useless as me? lol

Im not a specialist on this matter. But all of the connectors i have are DVI-I, by looking at this picture

Getting ideas straight

You can only have two monitors with two outputs, being them either VGA, HDMI or DVI.

You can't convert vga into nothing, vga is vga analogue and stays like that.

Most DVI outputs provide vga and digital output, some may provide HDMI out with an adapter, but first look into your GPU specs.

I also have dual head with two hdmi outputs and works pretty fine (one screen is also to small for me, being them 24'' and 19'' )

If you are into it, get a new GPU, all of them, even cheap ones, come with DVI, VGA with an adapter and HDMI with an adapter to the DVI output.
